Speculative Literature Foundation opens $1,000 travel grant
Proposals for the Gulliver Travel Research Grant are due November 30, 2026.

The Speculative Literature Foundation is accepting proposals for the Gulliver Travel Research Grant, according to Locus Online. The deadline to apply is November 30, 2026.
One grant of $1,000 is awarded annually, earmarked for airfare, lodging, and other travel expenses tied to non-academic research conducted by speculative fiction authors working in fiction, poetry, drama, or creative nonfiction, Locus Online reported. More information is available at the Gulliver Travel Research Grant site.
A $1,000 grant won't cover a research trip on its own, but it's real money earmarked specifically for airfare and lodging, and that's rarer than it should be in this field. If you write speculative fiction, poetry, drama, or creative nonfiction and have a non-academic research trip in mind, this is built for exactly that. One grant, one deadline, no reason to sit on it.
