Daily News and the New York Times each filed separate lawsuits against Brave Software, according to ChatGPT Is Eating the World, raising the total number of AI copyright suits the outlet tracks to 160.

The outlet reported that its own projection of 175 suits by the end of 2026 is "looking on target." Brave Software is also named in a separate, existing suit, Brave Software v. News Corp, in the Northern District of California, according to the report.

Coral’s read

Two more lawsuits landed in the same week, against the same company, from two different newsrooms. That's not a coincidence, that's a pattern you can set your watch to. The number to sit with is 160 — and the outlet tracking it says its own projection of 175 by end of 2026 is "looking on target."
