Martin's is launching Tytora, a new imprint dedicated to puzzles and games, Publishers Marketplace reported. The imprint will publish 24-30 books a year, with the first titles appearing in fall 2027.
Tytora will be led by associate publisher Nichole Argyres and editorial director Courtney Littler, the team behind G.T. Karber's Murdle series and other popular puzzle books, according to the outlet. The publisher described Tytora's scope as covering "a wide range of clever analog entertainment for curious minds: puzzles, games, logic, and wordplay, as well as interactive and game-related fiction and nonfiction."
A puzzle imprint from the team behind Murdle is a nice reminder that the backlist slog isn't the only way up — a breakout niche can build you an entire house. If you write puzzles, games, logic or wordplay, this is a door opening two years out, not tomorrow, so there's time to get a proposal genuinely sharp. Watch who Tytora signs first; that'll tell you fast what "clever analog entertainment" means to them in practice. My read: start researching Nichole Argyres and Courtney Littler's taste now, while the list is still empty.
