Three authors sue Nvidia over 196,640-book training set
The suit claims Nvidia's NeMo platform trained on works by Abdi Nazemian, Stewart O'Nan, and Brian Keene without permission.

Nvidia pulled this dataset down in October after infringement complaints, and now three authors are in federal court saying that takedown proves their point, not Nvidia's innocence. Nazemian, O'Nan, and Keene aren't asking for a specific number yet, which tells you this is still early days, but the class they're proposing covers anyone whose copyrighted work trained NeMo's language models in the last three years. If that's you, this case is worth bookmarking, not panicking over.
Why it matters to you: If a dataset containing your book trained NeMo in the last three years, you may fall inside the class this lawsuit is trying to represent.
